The ecobee SmartSensor brings whole-home comfort to the rooms that matter most. Each sensor detects temperature and occupancy and sends that information wirelessly to your ecobee smart thermostat, so it can adjust based on the room you're actually using instead of relying on one reading near the thermostat itself. Place a SmartSensor in your bedroom to keep nights comfortable, in a home office to avoid working in a room that's too hot or cold, or in any frequently used space to eliminate uneven temperatures throughout your home. When you're away, SmartSensor helps your thermostat recognize an empty house and avoid wasting energy heating or cooling rooms no one is in. SmartSensor connects wirelessly over a 915MHz radio signal, with a placement range of up to 60 feet from your ecobee thermostat, through walls and floors. It detects motion across a 140-degree horizontal and 100-degree vertical field of view, with a 20-foot detection range. Installation requires no wiring. Each sensor sits on an included detachable stand or mounts to a wall with the included adhesive bracket. A CR2477 battery is included and rated for up to 5 years of use, so there's minimal maintenance after setup - This 2-pack is compatible with ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium, Smart Thermostat Enhanced, Smart Thermostat Essential, Smart Thermostat Lite, SmartThermostat with voice control, ecobee3, ecobee3 lite, and ecobee4. Temperature and occupancy sensing for comfort works with any compatible thermostat at no extra cost. Using SmartSensor as part of ecobee's home security features, such as motion alerts while your system is armed, requires an active ecobee Smart Security subscription.
