Product Overview

The Short Answer: August 12 — If Google Sells Pixel Where You Live

Last updated: August 5, 2026. We refresh this page as Google confirms details, with a full rewrite against the official country list on August 12.

Pixel 11 preorders open on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. That is not a leak — Google has said so itself, alongside the Made by Google event where the phones get announced. Retail shipping is expected about a week later, around August 20, though Google has not committed to that one.

Two things about that date catch people out. The first is the time: the countdown clocks on Google’s and Best Buy’s own Pixel 11 pages run out at 7:00 am Pacific — roughly eight hours before the keynote even starts. If you wait for the announcement to finish, you may be ordering into a queue.

The second is that August 12 only means anything in the three dozen or so countries where Google actually sells Pixel phones. If you are reading this from Riyadh, Dubai, Kuwait City, Doha, Manama, Muscat, Hong Kong or Johannesburg, the phone exists that day — but no local store will take your preorder, because Google has no channel in your country at all.

This page splits the world into those two groups, gives you the preorder time in your own timezone, and lays out the route if your country is in the second group. If it is, join our Pixel 11 waitlist and we will email you the moment preorders open in the US.

What Time Preorders Open Where You Live

Here is the wrinkle almost every release-date article has missed. Google is announcing the Pixel 11 at 6:00 pm Eastern on August 12, in New York — but the countdown timers Google and Best Buy placed on their own Pixel 11 pages expire at 7:00 am Pacific / 10:00 am Eastern that morning. Both timers agree. Taken at face value, preorders open before Google has finished telling anyone what it is selling.

That is good news for most of the world: instead of an overnight scramble after a late-evening keynote, the preorder window opens during business hours across Europe, the Gulf and India, and late evening in East Asia.

The honest caveat: Google has never said "7am Pacific" in words. This comes from countdown clocks on its own store pages and Best Buy’s, which is strong evidence but not a statement. Regional stores have also historically lagged the US by a few hours, and carrier preorder pages often open the following business morning regardless. Be ready early rather than exactly on time.

If you are importing the US model, the clock matters to us rather than to you — what matters is that your order is in on day one, while launch allocation still exists.

The Countries Getting It Officially

Google has not published the Pixel 11 country list — that normally arrives with the announcement itself. The reliable proxy is the Pixel 10 launch, which covered 33 countries. It is worth separating them into two tiers, because "is the Pixel official here" and "can I buy it from Google here" are different questions: 24 of the 33 have a Google Store, and the other nine are served through retail and carrier partners.

RegionMarketsSold viaWorth knowing
North AmericaUnited States, CanadaGoogle Store + retailMexico is also official, through retail and carriers rather than the Google Store.
UK & IrelandUnited Kingdom, IrelandGoogle Store + carriersUK pricing is expected to rise roughly £80 per model this generation.
Western EuropeAustria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, SwitzerlandGoogle StoreItaly and Portugal are Store markets that still missed the Pro Fold last year.

Central & Eastern EuropeCzech Republic, Poland (Google Store); Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia (retail and carrier partners)MixedThe seven partner-only markets are genuinely official — they just have no Google Store.
Asia-PacificAustralia, India, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan (Google Store); Malaysia (retail and carrier partners)MixedBuy locally in all six. Do not import into Australia or Japan — see below.

If your country is anywhere on that list, the advice is simple: buy locally. You get local warranty coverage, local carrier certification, local returns, and pricing in your own currency. There is no good reason to import a phone into a market that already sells it.

The exception worth watching is the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold reached only 21 of those 33 markets, skipping Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia — and note that Italy, Poland and Portugal have Google Stores and still missed out, so a storefront guarantees nothing. If the Pixel 11 Pro Fold repeats the pattern, buyers in officially covered countries may find the Fold is the one model they cannot get at home. That is the case where importing into a covered market does make sense, and we will name the affected countries on August 12.

Australia and Japan: Buy Locally, Do Not Import

We are asked about Australia more than any other country on this list, so let us be blunt. Australia is an official Pixel market — the Pixel 11 is expected to go up for preorder there on August 12 through the Google Store and Australian retail, at Australian pricing. Buy it there.

Do not import a US Pixel into Australia. Under the ACMA determination requiring reliable 4G emergency calling, Telstra, Optus and TPG/Vodafone now all block handsets that are not certified for their networks — and the blocking works on the first eight digits of the IMEI, which identifies the model and variant rather than the individual phone. A non-Australian Pixel variant can therefore be blocked wholesale, and flagged devices typically get around 28 days before losing service entirely. Grey-market imports are specifically named as the highest-risk category. No import service can fix that for you, and we would rather say so than take your order.

Japan is the same answer for a different reason. Japan is an official Pixel market, and radio equipment sold there must carry Giteki certification from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. A US handset does not, which makes operating one on Japanese networks legally murky at best. Buy the Japanese model.

India, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Canada and Mexico round out the non-European coverage, and the same logic applies to all of them: official market, local warranty, local price — order at home on August 12.

The Countries Not on Google’s List — and the Route

For everyone else, August 12 passes without a local preorder page. No Google Store, no authorized local retail, no official launch date at all. Pixel demand in these markets is served entirely by parallel importers, which in practice means stock lands two to four weeks after launch, in whatever configurations the importer happened to buy, at or above US retail pricing.

CountryOfficial Google channelWhat to do
Saudi ArabiaNoneSaudi Arabia preorder guide
United Arab EmiratesNoneUAE preorder guide
Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, OmanNoneKuwait, Bahrain, Qatar & Oman guide
Hong KongNone — parallel importers onlyImport works, but local parallel stock reaches US pricing within days. The day-one window is the only real advantage.
South AfricaNoneImport is possible, but the tax load is heavy — roughly 26% all-in. Local parallel stock is often the better buy, and we will say so.
Everywhere elseNoneMost of Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Central and Southeast Asia. Import is the only route on launch day.

The route is the same in every one of these cases: buy the US model on day one, through a service that purchases on your behalf and forwards it. That is what we do. Big Apple Buddy orders from US retailers for customers in more than 100 countries, so your Pixel 11 leaves the US as soon as retail units release — usually well before local parallel stock exists at all.

Before committing, read the honest version of the trade-offs — landed cost, carrier bands, and the warranty situation, which is genuinely worse on an imported handset: Should you import the Google Pixel 11?

The Dates Around Preorder Day

Preorder day sits inside a sequence, and the gaps are where people get caught out. Note in particular that the two US signup offers everyone keeps merging together are two different offers with two different deadlines.

  • August 7 — the Google Store registration closes (11:59 pm Pacific). Sign up and Google emails a one-time code on August 11, usable on an unlocked or Google Fi Pixel 11 until August 27. US addresses only.
  • August 11 — the Best Buy signup closes (11:59 pm Central). Separate offer, separate one-time code, also US-only. The value of neither code has been disclosed, so treat any figure you see as a guess.
  • August 12, 7:00 am Pacific — preorders expected to open, per the countdown clocks.
  • August 12, 6:00 pm Eastern — the keynote. Confirmed prices, specs, colors and the official country list all land here.
  • Around August 20 — retail shipping expected to begin. Rumored, not confirmed. The Pro Fold may be much later — October, by some accounts.
  • Late August into September — when parallel-import stock typically starts appearing in countries with no official channel, at scarcity pricing.

If you are importing, the dates that matter are August 12 (order placed, allocation secured) and roughly August 20 (unit ships), plus transit. Ordering on day one is what keeps you in the first shipment rather than the second.

What Is Actually Confirmed, and What Is Not

Release-date coverage tends to blur these together, so here is the line, plainly.

Confirmed by Google: the August 12, 2026 announcement and preorder date; the Made by Google event at 6:00 pm Eastern; the Pixel 11 name; and "Pixel Glow," the notification light ring Google showed in its own July teaser.

Strongly implied but never stated: the 7:00 am Pacific preorder time. It comes from countdown clocks on Google’s and Best Buy’s own pages — their own numbers, but not their own words.

Not confirmed — leak-sourced: the August 20 ship date; the four-model lineup topping out at a Pro Fold; US pricing starting around $899 with the 128GB tier dropped; the Tensor G6 chip; every colorway; the October Pro Fold timing; and the country list itself, which is why this page uses the Pixel 10 markets as a proxy and says so each time.

We would rather be the page that tells you what is unsettled than the one that presents a leak as fact and quietly edits it later. For expected specs and prices in full, see Pixel 11: everything we know so far; if you are deciding between generations, Pixel 11 vs Pixel 10 covers when the Pixel 10 is still the smarter buy.

The Bottom Line

August 12, 2026 is the date, and it is confirmed. What it means for you depends entirely on which of the two lists your country is on — and on being awake for it.

On Google’s list? Set an alarm for 7:00 am Pacific, order locally, and enjoy having a warranty. Not on it? Your launch day is the same day — it just runs through the US. Ordering on August 12 is the difference between having a Pixel 11 in August and waiting for parallel stock in September.

FAQ

When does the Google Pixel 11 come out?

Google has confirmed the Pixel 11 announcement for its Made by Google event on August 12, 2026, with preorders opening the same day. Retail shipping is expected around August 20, 2026, though Google has not confirmed a ship date. August 12 is the only date Google itself has committed to.

What time do Pixel 11 preorders open?

Countdown clocks on both the Google Store and Best Buy point to 7:00 am Pacific / 10:00 am Eastern on August 12, 2026 — about eight hours before the Made by Google keynote begins at 6:00 pm Eastern. That is 3:00 pm in London, 6:00 pm in Dubai and midnight in Sydney. Google has not stated the time in words, so treat it as expected rather than promised, and be ready early.

Can I preorder the Pixel 11 before the launch event?

It looks that way. The countdown timers Google and Best Buy put on their own Pixel 11 pages run out at 7:00 am Pacific on August 12, hours before the 6:00 pm Eastern keynote — which would mean preorders open before Google has finished announcing the phones. That is unusual, and it is why we tell people not to wait for the event to start.

Which countries will sell the Pixel 11 officially?

Google has not published the Pixel 11 country list — it usually arrives with the announcement on August 12. The Pixel 10 launched in 33 countries, of which 24 have a Google Store and nine are served through retail and carrier partners. That is the best available proxy until Google confirms.

Is the Pixel 11 releasing in Australia?

Australia is an official Google Pixel market, so the Pixel 11 is expected to launch there with preorders on August 12 through the Google Store and Australian retail. Buy locally — do not import a US handset into Australia. Under the ACMA emergency-calling determination, Telstra, Optus and TPG/Vodafone now all block handsets that are not certified for their networks, and they block by model and variant rather than device by device.

When will the Pixel 11 actually ship?

Retail shipping is expected around August 20, 2026 — roughly a week after preorders open, matching the Pixel 10 pattern. That date comes from leaks, not from Google. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is separately rumoured to ship later, possibly not until October.

Will the Pixel 11 Pro Fold launch in every country?

Probably not. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold reached only 21 of the 33 markets that got the rest of the line, and the ones it skipped included Google Store countries like Italy, Poland and Portugal — so having a Google Store is no guarantee. If the Pixel 11 Pro Fold repeats that pattern, some buyers in officially covered countries will find the Fold is the one model they cannot order at home.

Can I preorder the Pixel 11 if Google does not sell it in my country?

Not from Google directly — the Google Store will not accept an order or a delivery address in a country it does not serve. The route is to buy the US model through a service that purchases on your behalf and forwards it. That is what Big Apple Buddy does: we order on day one and ship to over 100 countries, which usually puts a Pixel in your hands weeks before local parallel-import stock appears.
